Mike is an Accredited Counsellor and welcomes people from a range of diverse backgrounds, cultures and ethnicity, ability, sexual orientation and gender.
He also holds a first class BsC in Psychology and has experience in various areas of mental health provision including training with Cruse Bereavement and the Samaritans. Previous roles include a research fellowship for KCA UK and assistant editor of the European Journal of Counselling Psychology.
Mike is a non-monogamy, gender, sexuality and kink informed therapist and can support individuals with minority stress, micro-aggressions, developing queer joy, coming out, dealing with trans/homophobic families, internalised trans/homophobia, relationship and sex issues, as well as historical trauma from abuse (including sexual abuse) and many more.
Mike was delighted to have received a Mind Kent Mental Health Wellbeing Award in 2024 for supporting the LGBTQIA+ community, Counsellor & Hypnotherapist of the Year 2025 – Kent and LGBTQIA+ Allyship Excellence Award 2025 from SME and Inclusive Counsellor & Professional Hypnotherapist of the Year 2026 - Kent, LGBTQIA+ Community Allyship Excellence Award 2026 at GHP Mental Health Awards 2026.
